A thousand years…
seems to us to be a very long time
but actually,
if taken as a fact within the time continuum,
the history of mankind and our planet
it is but a fraction of time spent in the continuous creation of the universe.
A thousand years might seem to be
sufficient time
to rectify wrong doings of the past
or to enrich the lives of our neighbours
But… A thousand years is just long enough…
for the outstanding good deeds to be remembered
as well as the worst deeds done to each other to be remembered
since both actions are captured in history
and therefore outlives throughout eternity those who have accomplished these actions.
A year has passed of this new millennium
and each of us must take stock
and account to ourselves
and to the Lord our Saviour,
especially during this festive period,
about the things we promised to do and did not do.
At the dawn of the new millennium…
We must accept that our lives
within this time continuum is short and fleetingly…
Therefore before we make promises and New Year resolutions…
Think back and take stock
and make realistic New Year resolutions
in the presence of the Lord our Saviour.
