It is dynamic… It is constant… It takes place continuously…
How can I effect change? How can I make a difference?… Be like …
Each of us have had at a specific time of our lives the privilege to come across a specific person whom have been put in our way at a crossroad of our life’s journey Just like two ships crossing paths on the great expanse of life’s-ocean…
That person is put into our path for a specific reason…
For a short period during our time-continuum we have to nurture, empower and pour the life providing knowledge on that person in order for the person to become what the Lord has decided should happen during that short period of sharing…
A thousand years… seems to us to be a very long time but actually, if taken as a fact within the time continuum, the history of mankind and our planet it is but a fraction of time spent in the continuous creation of the universe.
Ever wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phone? What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets? What if we flipped through it several time a day? What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?What if we used it to receive messages from the text? What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?What if we gave it to Kids as gifts? What if we used it when we traveled? What if we used it in case of emergency? This is something to make you go....hmm...where is my Bible?Oh, and one more thing.Unlike our cell phone, we don't have to worry about our Bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill.Makes you stop and think 'where are my priorities? And no dropped calls! When Jesus died on the cross, he was thinking of you!
Your thumb is nearest you. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember.. To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis once said, a 'sweet duty.'
The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.
The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president, leaders in business and industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance.
The fourth finger is our ring finger.. Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger, as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them.
And lastly comes our little finger - the smallest finger of all which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the Bible says, 'The least shall be the greatest among you.' Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.
There was once a man who didn't believe in God, and he didn't hesitate to let others know how he felt about religion and religious holidays. His wife, however, did believe, and she raised their children to also have faith in God and Jesus, despite his disparaging comments. One snowy Eve, his wife was taking their children to service in the farm community in which they lived. They were to talk about Jesus' birth. She asked him to come, but he refused. "That story is nonsense!" he said. "Why would God lower Himself to come to Earth as a man? That's ridiculous!" So she and the children left, and he stayed home.A while later, the winds grew stronger and the snow turned into a blizzard. As the man looked out the window, all he saw was a blinding snowstorm. He sat down to relax before the fire for the evening. Then he heard a loud thump. Something had hit the window. He looked out, but couldn't see more than a few feet. When the snow let up a little, he ventured outside to see what could have been beating on his window. One day, one friend asked another, "How is it that you are always so happy? You have so much energy, and you never seem to get down." With her eyes smiling, she said, "I know the Secret!" "What secret is that?" To which she replied, "I'll tell you all about it, but you have to promise to share the Secret with others." You see, there were a few times when I thought I would lose my mind, But GOD kept me sane. (Isa. 26:3) There were times when I thought I could go no longer, But the LORD kept me moving. (Gen 28:15) At times, I've wanted to lash out at those whom I felt had done me wrong, But the LORD kept my mouth shut. (Psa. 13) Sometimes, I think the money just isn't enough, But GOD has helped me to keep the lights on, the water on, the car paid, the house paid, etc.., (Matt. 6:25 -34) When I thought I would fall, HE kept me up. When I thought I was weak, HE kept me strong! (I Pet. 5:7, Matt. 11:28-30) I could go on and on and on, but I'm sure you hear me! I'm blessed to be "kept." After having sent out my April and July newsletters of 2008, extending a welcome and challenge to start a gospel music group accompanying me into the Amazon I received a very successful response so that up to date our music group consists out of 5 members: 1.Rudi - lead guitarist, 2.Benedict - drummer, 3.Geyser’ -Keyboards, 4.Emil - bass guitar and 5. Myself.
